Knife

The old saying goes “don’t bring a knife to a gun fight”, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have an awesome knife at your gunfight. Knives are the quintessential pieces of survival equipment. They allow you to work with wood, cut food, cut enemies and so much more. I can’t even imagine leaving the house to go to grocery store without my trusty pocketknife, much less heading out to face the apocalypse without it. Here’s a true story for you: When I was 17 years old, I fashioned a spear from a tree branch that I tied my pocketknife to with my shoelaces and successfully speared and landed a fish with it. I have witnesses. The point is, if you’ve got a good knife, you’re going have a better shot at figuring out whatever scenarios you find yourself in. So let’s cut to the chase (ha!).

Benchmade 580S Barrage Knife

Benchmade knives are the pinnacle of construction and engineering. The drop point blade of the Barrage is not only razor-sharp, but also holds its edge like a champ. The metal parts of the Barrage are all stainless steel for increased durability and corrosion resistance.

The body of the ergonomically designed Barrage is made of a polymer resin that is impervious to moisture. The Barrage utilizes a spring-assisted ambidextrous blade opening system called Axis, which has been redesigned and is stronger and faster than its predecessors.

If you need to get the cutting started in a hurry and keep it going for a long time, this is the knife for you.

Buck 110 Classic Folding Hunter Knife

This is the knife your granddad probably took into the woods with him. It is a classic design with a simple and elegant nail-notch opening blade. This knife is not the lightest or the fastest around, but if it came down to it, you could knock a zombies head off with the butt of this knife and then cut the top off of a can of soup.

The 420HC stainless steel blade is hard, sharp and durable. The Buck 110 is a throwback to the more rugged days of yesteryear, which may be exactly what we need in the rugged days of the future.
